Hi, I’m Maria.

I'm a licensed, insured, and bonded pet care provider in Napa, CA.

I've been living and working with animals my entire life. My family loved animals and so I grew up caring for my family’s 2 dogs and cat as well as my own cat, 2 rats, and several hamsters.

As an adult I’ve had the privilege of being a pet parent over the last 30 years to a Lovebird, Conure, Boston Terrier, Schipperke, 6 rats, Pitbull, a Manx cat, Maine Coone-Manx cat, and a feral cat. I currently share my home with Luna, a Dachshund-Border Collie, and Baron, an Italian Greyhound-terrier.

I worked as a veterinary assistant for 2 years. For 6 years I volunteered with local rescues, fostering and training dogs to prepare them for adoption. I also worked with the dogs and their families post adoption to help with adjustment issues or training. I was a member, board member, and training assistant at the Napa Valley Dog Training Club.

Lil' Rascals Pet Care began because a family in a puppy training class asked for referrals for a kennel. It bothered me to think of their sweet pup in a kennel instead of a cozy home environment so I offered to care for her in my home. Soon others were asking me to board their dogs and so I set everything up from licensing to insurance and Lil' Rascals was officially opened in July 2015. I did the pet care work around my full-time office job for 2 years but since 2017 I have been working full time with the animals.
